The Small Faces.
Watching a late night programme about psychedelic music from the 60s I saw a performance by them of a song about a baker which was brilliant so I then spent the next hour on YouTube watching all of their stuff.

Steve Marriott was some singer!

What a group but much forgotten I’d say.

Did they sing "stay with me" or was that rod Stewart or a combination of both . Excuse my ignorance . That and Cindy incidentally were good numbers anyway.

Absolutely criminal how they never received royalties for their songs

It’s ironic that Steve played the artful dodger in Lionel Bart’s stage show and then ended up with a real life Fagin in Don Arden (Sharon Osborne’s Dad) knicking a load of dosh off of him and the boys.
